Vallejo Resident on Probation Arrested After High-Speed Chase in Stolen Vehicle, Charged with Multiple FeloniesSource: Google Street View

Early yesterday morning, an encounter between American Canyon Police officers and a man driving a stolen vehicle escalated into a dangerous pursuit. According to a post on the American Canyon Police Department's Facebook page, officers spotted the stolen silver 2023 Chevrolet truck at around 12:30 AM, traveling along SR-29.

The vehicle reported stolen from Gilroy pulled over at Meadows and Echo Summit Drive in Vallejo before the driver suddenly floored it, reaching speeds of 100 mph and driving recklessly back onto SR-29. The driver then doubled back to the original stop location, where he crashed into a power pole. Despite his attempts to flee by foot, police apprehended him after a brief chase in which he discarded a backpack.

In a search that ensued, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found inside the thrown backpack, and a loaded Smith & Wesson .38 Special revolver was also found inside the stolen truck. The driver, identified as Howard Edejer, a 39-year-old Vallejo resident and convicted felon already on PRCS probation, has now been charged with multiple felonies, including possession of firearms, drugs, and stolen property, and his bail was set at $100,000.
