In Marietta, Georgia, Cobb County voters from two precincts have been given incorrect information about their polling locations for the upcoming election. Cobb Elections acknowledged this mistake in the Voter Guides recently mailed to residents. According to the Cobb County, the mix-up affects those in the Acworth 1C precinct, who should be heading to the North Cobb Senior Center, and Roswell 02 voters, directed to Mt. Zion Methodist Church.
While the mistake is acknowledged, there is an attempt to mitigate confusion, as the Elections Director Tate Fall notes that “We regret this error and are working to distribute the correct information via social media, our website, and the media,” he stated in the official communication. He also stated that poll workers at the incorrect sites will direct voters to the correct polling places next Tuesday. Fall advises voters to verify their polling locations on their My Voter Page before Election Day, as this is an important step to avoid potential voting issues.
This issue arises despite the Voter Guides being a voluntary effort by the county to inform voters about their rights and the electoral process. The guides included details on early voting, referenda, and sample ballots, aimed at promoting civic engagement and participation in the election.
