The Chicago Police Department has reported the arrest of a 35-year-old man, Brian Jones, from Westchester, Illinois, in connection with an armed robbery. According to a statement released by CPD, Jones was apprehended on October 22 and has been charged with felony armed robbery and a misdemeanor charge for criminal trespass to real property.
The details of the incident indicate that Jones is accused of robbing a 54-year-old man at gunpoint. The crime occurred on the morning of October 1, around 9:55 a.m., in the vicinity of the 200 block of N. Pine Ave, as reported by the Chicago Police Department. He allegedly took property from the victim, which escalated the charge to a felony due to the alleged use of a firearm. The location of the crime falls within the bounds of the 15th District.
Jones, who resides on the 10300 block of Kent St. in Westchester, was identified as the suspect and is now facing the consequences of his alleged action. A detention hearing is scheduled for October 23, at the courthouse located at 2600 S. California, as per the CPD.
