In the early hours of Saturday, flames engulfed a home in Wilkins Township, leading to significant property damage. Still, local sources reported no injuries. WPXI reported that the blaze erupted after 2 a.m. on Greensburg Pike near Dorothy Street. The severity of the fire devastated the initial residence and damaged the exterior of a neighboring property. As observed by the WPXI photographer on the scene, portions of the structure had collapsed under the force of the flames.
The Wilkins Township Volunteer Fire Company shared photos depicting the home completely taken over by the fire. While the exact cause of the calamity has yet to be determined, the Allegheny County Fire Marshal's office has commenced an investigation to ascertain what led to the inferno thoroughly.
This effort demanded closing Greensburg Pike for several hours to secure the area for emergency response, according to information from WTAE. Allegheny County 911 officials confirmed that despite the extensive damage inflicted by the fire, there were, thankfully, no reports of injuries or casualties.
