A woman is in critical condition following a shooting incident in Hickory Hill, Memphis, as confirmed by local authorities. Action News 5 reports that the shooting occurred yesterday on the 6000 block of Valleydale Drive. Memphis police responded to the scene at approximately 6:08 p.m. where they found the injured woman who was swiftly transported to Regional One Hospital.
Details regarding the circumstances of the shooting have not been fully disclosed, however, police have detained a man said to be connected with the incident. The victim, rushed to the hospital, was sustaining critical injuries, fighting for her life. The nature of the relationship, if any, between the detained male and the victim has not been made clear at this time.
The WREG News also confirmed a male individual has been detained in relation to the shooting, which took place just after 6 p.m. However, it remains unconfirmed if the detained person is a suspect, witness, or connected in any other capacity to the incident.
