A 61-year-old woman has succumbed to injuries sustained in a multi-vehicle crash in the northwest valley, nearly one month following the incident, as per the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD). The crash, involving a 2012 Kia Soul, a 2016 Honda Accord, and a 2007 Honda Pilot, occurred at the intersection of North Buffalo Drive and Smoke Ranch Road shortly after 9 PM, according to News3LV.
Authorities revealed that the Kia, attempting a left turn on a flashing yellow arrow, collided with the Accord traveling northbound on a green light, this collision then propelled the Accord into the Pilot, which was stationary at a red light. Both occupants of the Kia and the driver of the Accord were transported to UMC's Trauma unit; however, "the other three people reportedly only suffered minor injuries," as reported by News3LV.
The deceased driver of the Kia was declared dead on the morning of October 11. However, police indicate no signs of impairment amongst any of the drivers involved. FOX5 Vegas identified Kristy Garay as the driver of the Honda Accord and Timothy Johnson as the operator of the Pilot. The investigation into the fatal incident is ongoing, marking the 124th traffic-related death in LVMPD's jurisdiction in 2024.
