A woman in Downtown West became the victim of a robbery yesterday morning, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. The incident occurred in the 1500 block of Olive St., sparking an investigation by District 4 officers.
The altercation began as an argument over money among several individuals. According to SLMPD's release, during the argument, a known male suspect seized the opportunity and robbed a 24-year-old woman of her iPhone. The altercation, escalating into a theft at 10 a.m., eventually led to the suspect fleeing the scene in a white Dodge Charger.
Later that day, around 8:20 p.m., officers were dispatched in response to the report of the holdup that had occurred earlier. The subsequent investigation into the reported incident is actively ongoing as authorities work to piece together the events of that morning.
