Following a report of armed men in Worcester, a local man was arrested on multiple drug charges, as per a statement from the Worcester Police Department. Officers were informed about three men, one allegedly armed, and were dispatched to the scene yesterday. While no firearm was located, 22-year-old Kimali Olivo was arrested when officers discovered a substantial quantity of drugs in his vehicle.
According to a report from the Worcester Police Department, officers arrived at approximately 8:29 AM and found two males in a vehicle matching the dispatch description, while Olivo was seen walking away from a second vehicle. Although initially called to investigate a firearm-related incident, the focus shifted when a cache of drugs was discovered. Olivo confirmed he drives the second vehicle, in which officers did not recover a weapon but found evidence of drug distribution, including 109 individually wrapped marijuana nodules indicative of distribution practices.
The Worcester police's search extended to Olivo himself, discovering a large bag holding about 50 pills, which were tested and later confirmed to be heroin. Alongside the marijuana, a 16-ounce container of promethazine, a substance regulated as class E, was found. The prescription drug was in Olivo’s possession unlawfully, as he lacked a prescription. While the other individuals present were released, Olivo is now facing charges that implicate him deeply in the illegal drug trade.
As reported by the Worcester Police Department, Olivo is charged with "Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D, Trafficking Heroin and Possession of Class E." This incident raises questions about the larger networks behind individual drug possession—often hidden but sometimes revealed through routine police work. The Worcester community is battling drug trafficking, and this case is part of ongoing efforts to reduce illegal substance distribution in the city.
