In a straightforward account of criminal activity, a Worcester man was apprehended following a reported break-in at a local insurance company. According to a release from the Worcester Police, thirty-four-year-old William Cruz was taken into custody early yesterday morning, following a reported commercial break at Hanover Insurance's establishment.
When officers arrived at the scene, at approximately 2:50 AM, they were directed by security personnel to Cruz, who was attempting to hastily exit the vicinity. The police ordered Cruz to stop running and detained him to further investigate. They quickly discovered a shattered glass entrance, which appeared to have been broken just moments before.
Upon detailed inspection, a host of evidence was amassed, including a hammer and an insurance company-branded bag, both of which were found in Mr. Cruz's possession. The pieces seemed to collectively form a narrative of intent and action, following which Mr. Cruz was arrested and charged with an array of offenses: Breaking and Entering at Night, Possession of Burglarious Instruments, and Vandalism.
