Yesterday evening, the Worcester Police Vice Squad executed a search warrant on a Piedmont St address, leading to the seizure of a significant quantity of drugs and subsequent arrests. According to the Worcester Police Department's press release, the operation began around 8:30 p.m. when officers saw Kavin Andino, a 22-year-old subject of the investigation, exiting the apartment in question.
Upon entering the apartment to detain Mr. Andino, officers witnessed him throw a bag containing a substance that appeared to be cocaine, and after a thorough search of the premises, they uncovered additional quantities of suspected cocaine, fentanyl, assorted pills, and packaging materials; this all occurred before Andino was placed under arrest and charged with drug trafficking and conspiracy offenses. Along with Andino, those arrested included forty-eight-year-old Julio Maldonado and twenty-nine-year-old Marian Calis who now face similar charges while twenty-two-year-old Jerry Landrau, apprehended on Grafton St, is charged with conspiracy, possession of prohibited weaponry, and obstructing the police investigation.
The report outlines the specific charges against Kavin Andino: Trafficking in Cocaine (100-199 grams), Trafficking in Heroin (36-99 grams), and Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws, which are the same charges faced by Maldonado and Calis.
