Wyoming, Ohio, aims to spotlight environmentally conscious businesses with its Green Business Award. The City's Environmental Stewardship Commission has issued a clarion call to all local business owners who have made strides in promoting sustainability and positively impacting the environment. According to the announcement on the City of Wyoming's official website, five businesses in the area will have their green initiatives celebrated at a City Council meeting on December 16.
Businesses eager to display eco-friendly practices can submit applications by the November 1 deadline. After submitting, local businesses with varying environmental measures, regardless of size, stand the potential to be evaluated and acknowledged for their contributions. Even if not comprehensive in every category, the commission encourages all participants to list their sustainability efforts, signaling that every green step is valued.
Winners of the 2024 Wyoming Green Business Award will gain recognition beyond the physical award—with the promise of being spotlighted through city communications and a press release to local media. More than just a title, the award also provides practical marketing perks like a Green Business Award logo for use on recipients' websites, and a door cling to boast their environmentally friendly status at their establishments.
The Wyoming Environmental Stewardship Commission will judge and evaluate the range of green initiatives detailed in the applications. The winning businesses will be announced in mid-November. Those receiving the honor will join a celebrated circle recognized at the city level for their stewardship, reinforcing the value Wyoming places on businesses that look to give back to the planet as much as they take in profits.
