An 18-year-old male has been arrested and charged with one felony count of Aggravated Vehicular Hijacking with a Firearm and another of Armed Robbery with a Firearm, the Chicago Police Department reported. According to the official statement, the individual was taken into custody on November 19th, 2024, after being located at the 6000 block of S. Western Ave.
The incident in question occurred on October 21, 2024, where the offender, who was a juvenile at the time, is said to have taken part in forcefully taking possession of a vehicle along with other personal belongings at gunpoint from a 27-year-old man. This crime took place in the vicinity of the 2500 block of W. 64th St. in the 8th District. Despite being charged as a juvenile, the gravity of the alleged crimes is undiminished as they involve the threat of violence using a firearm.
