
At the Board of Commissioners Committee Meeting last Tuesday, the Douglas County Government announced the appointment of Anthony Q. Choice as the new Procurement Director. He will begin his role on January 4, 2025, taking over from the Deputy Director of Procurement, who has been filling the position temporarily, according to the Douglas County.
The Douglas County Procurement and Purchasing Department handles buying materials and services for the county. It also works on creating policies and cost-saving strategies. Anthony Q. Choice, with over 30 years of experience, is well-suited for the role. He has worked as a Procurement Administrator for 24 years and as Manager of Procurement & Fleet Services for five years. He holds certifications from GDOT and is a member of the NIGP’s Governmental Procurement Association of Georgia.
Anthony Q. Choice expressed his gratitude and commitment to the role, stating, "Thank you all for entrusting me with this role. We stand on the principles of compliance, fairness, and transparency." With a strong background in contracts, fiscal management, and procurement, Choice is expected to bring progress and integrity to the county's procurement practices, as stated by the Douglas County.
