Athens-Clarke County residents should be aware of adjusted office hours for vehicle registrations and property taxes in the coming weeks. According to a public notice issued by the Tax Commissioner's Office, both the Tag Office and the Property Tax Office have announced early closures on December 3 and December 10, as per the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government.
On December 3, the Tag Office will close at 2 p.m., and the Property Tax Office will close at 3 p.m. These changes, which have not been explained, may impact those needing in-person services. On December 10, both offices will close even earlier at 11:30 a.m., so residents are advised to complete their business earlier in the day. It's advisable for community members to take note and adjust their schedules as required to avoid inconvenience given that these offices play a pivotal role in handling essential civic tasks.
Residents who are unable to visit the Tag and Property Tax offices during the limited hours have alternatives at their disposal, they can access a variety of services online, including renewals and payments, which might offer convenience and time-saving benefits; the official notice suggests opting for digital transactions when possible.
