Drivers and commuters on University Avenue SW should be aware of lane closures and a change in traffic patterns starting today. The Atlanta Department of Transportation (ATLDOT) has announced these changes, which will affect the area from Moton Avenue SW to the Atlanta Beltline Westside Trail SW. The adjustments are part of a resurfacing project aimed at maintaining the city's streets.
The lane closures began this morning and will remain in place until 6:00 p.m. on weekdays, with the altered traffic pattern continuing until the resurfacing project is completed. ATLDOT’s website advises commuters to consider alternate routes to avoid delays.
While one lane will be closed to allow for construction, traffic will still be able to pass through. ATLDOT has indicated that traffic personnel will be present to manage the flow and help reduce delays. Their role is to assist with ensuring safe and efficient travel during the project.
