Early Sunday morning, Atlanta police responded to a shooting at 1150 Crescent Ave NE. Gunfire erupted around 1:46 am, and officers, already working an extra shift, quickly arrested a male suspect. The shooting left one man dead, and the suspect is now in custody facing serious charges.
The Atlanta Police Department quickly identified and arrested the alleged shooter, Ricky Hutchinson, born in April 2003. The victim, found in a nearby alley with a gunshot wound, later died despite efforts by Grady EMS. Hutchinson was taken to Atlanta Police Department headquarters for further questioning.
After an investigation, Atlanta Police Homicide Detectives gathered enough evidence to charge Hutchinson with multiple offenses, including murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. These serious charges carry significant legal consequences for Hutchinson. Hutchinson remains in custody as investigations continue into the shooting.
