As Austin residents gathered around their Thanksgiving tables yesterday they were met with a familiar chill, with temperatures hovering in the mid-50s. According to the latest update from the National Weather Service, the city experienced fair weather with a brisk north wind gusting up to 23 mph and a relative humidity of 33%.

The gray overcast that accompanied Thanksgiving Day is yielding to a partly cloudy evening with that, low forecast to drop around 40 degrees. "Mostly cloudy, with a high near 60. North wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph," as stated by the National Weather Service. The north wind, a lingering guest, will persist though with less force in the night.

Looking ahead to Friday, optimism may burgeon as skies clear up. "Mostly sunny, with a high near 62. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph," the forecast continues. As the sun sets, so does the wind, with Friday night expected to be partly cloudy and the mercury dipping to around 39 degrees.
The weekend ahead appears equally mild, with Saturday's high reaching towards a comfortable 66 degrees under partly sunny skies. Nightfall introduces more clouds and a slight increase in the evening low, around 45 degrees. The light weather pattern suggests calm, an ease before the prospect of showers increases early next week.
Monday's skies remain mostly sunny with a high near 66 degrees, while calm winds characterize the day. However, the forecast evolves as Tuesday approaches, with a 40 percent chance of rain infiltrating the otherwise mostly cloudy day, as per the National Weather Service. The possibility of showers continues into Wednesday, although they don't promise a deluge, merely a reminder of the season's change, and the cycle of ebb and flow that marks our clime.
