The Bellaire community is on alert as local authorities are actively seeking a man accused of harassing women joggers. FOX 26 Houston reports that the Bellaire Police Department has issued an arrest warrant for Jaren Jamal Brady after multiple incidents involving a red SUV that has been trailing female joggers in the area. The reported harassment has raised safety concerns amongst Bellaire residents.

"It's very frightening because it gets so dark so soon these days," Jotika Ramchandani, a Bellaire resident, told FOX 26 Houston. Residents are particularly on edge given the recent life sentence without parole of Jose Ibarra, for the murder of Laken Riley, a Georgia nursing student who was targeted while running. The bell of concern, rings even louder now with an active predator like Brady alleged at-large in Bellaire, the same bell that tolls with the grievous reminder of Riley's fate.

Adding to the concern, Rachel Lopez suggests, "It's a good idea to have someone you can share your location with, no matter what you may be doing. Also, just be more alert because sometimes we have headphones on, and we’re not aware of our surroundings," as obtained by FOX 26 Houston. The sense of security that once was taken for granted has now been supplanted with hypervigilance and precaution.

According to Click2Houston, an arrest warrant was issued for Brady after an incident on November 8, where a red SUV, believed to be driven by Brady, was stopped for harassing joggers. Brady was arrested on unrelated charges, yet details on those charges or how he returned to the streets shortly after are not specified. The Bellaire Police Department encourages anyone with knowledge of Brady's location to come forward, offering the contact number 713-668-0487.
