In a show of support, Boston first responders participated in a cruiser convoy to cheer up 8-year-old Collin Genetti-Moore, who is battling cancer. On last Saturday, the Boston Police Department and other city emergency services came together for the special event in honor of Collin, from Burlington, Connecticut.
Collin, who is battling Ewing Sarcoma, has won the hearts of many, especially Detective Hawkins from the Boston Police Department's Homicide Unit. Moved by Collin's story, Hawkins helped secure a grant for the family from Cops for Kids with Cancer, providing them with much-needed financial support in March.
The event featured a parade of police cruisers, fire trucks, and ambulances, all dedicated to bringing joy to Collin. The officers made Collin an Honorary Boston Police Officer, a title that filled him with pride and happiness. Detective Hawkins, who personally traveled to Connecticut, presented the family with the check.
