
A 39-year-old man, identified as Jesse Wells, is facing multiple felony charges after a series of events that left two police officers with minor injuries. According to FOX 10 Phoenix, Wells allegedly stole a City of Buckeye truck from a job site on the morning of November 27, before crashing it into an unoccupied vehicle and assaulting two officers during his arrest.

The incident occurred near Baseline Road and Central Boulevard while the job site crews were working. The crash happened around a block away, as reported by ABC 15. As he attempted to flee the scene, a city employee helped to detain Wells until officers arrived on the scene.
Both of the involved officers reported minor injuries following the altercation, as per FOX 10 Phoenix. One officer needed to be transported to the hospital for treatment, though the nature of the injuries remains unspecified. Wells was booked into jail and now faces charges of vehicle theft and aggravated assault, amid other felonies.
Baseline Road, which had been closed between 1st Avenue West and 1st Avenue East due to the investigation, subsequently reopened, as detailed by FOX 10 Phoenix.
