Fulton County is preparing for winter with warmth for those in need as Commissioner Marvin S. Arrington, Jr. launches the annual "Blanket Atlanta with Love" Drive. This community initiative, in partnership with the Fulton County Department of Community Development and Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, aims to collect winter essentials for individuals facing hardships during the colder months, according to the Fulton County website.
The drive is seeking new or gently used winter clothing and toiletries and aims to collect donations widely. From Monday to November 15, citizens can drop off their contributions at various collection bins throughout the county. These bins are open for donations daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., making it convenient to contribute at any time.
After the collection period, the initiative will conclude with a dinner on November 19, where the collected items will be distributed to those in need. This community event will take place at the Fulton County Government Center from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Residents can drop off donations at the Fulton County Government Center or the Fulton County South Annex. Those interested in getting more involved or seeking additional information can visit the District 5 website or sign up to volunteer through a provided link.
