During a routine traffic stop last week, Concord Police officers detected the scent of marijuana, which led them to investigate further. The driver, who had a history of felony convictions, was arrested on new firearms and narcotics charges. Officers seized two loaded firearms and nearly $10,000 in cash at the scene, according to a social media update from the Concord Police Department.
The initial discovery didn’t end there. Officers found prescription drugs, marijuana, and cocaine, all prepped and parcelled for sale. The culmination of their roadside investigation led detectives to secure a search warrant for the suspect's residence. There, they unearthed two additional firearms, including a fully automatic weapon, nearly half a pound of cocaine, close to two hundred oxycodone pills, prescription codeine syrup, and an extraordinary 40-plus pounds of marijuana, alongside $12,000 in additional cash.
Concord Police took the opportunity to highlight their commitment through this arrest, emphasizing their role in "keeping dangerous items off the streets and ensuring community safety."
