A Stone Memorial High School teacher, identified as 56-year-old James Green, was arrested after allegations surfaced of him threatening students during class. WVLT reported that the incident, which reportedly involved 14 students, led to Green's arrest on charges of reckless endangerment.
Crossville Police detailed the events following a tip from a concerned student to the school resource officer. The student shared that threats were made by the teacher the preceding day. Subsequently, the Crossville Police Department initiated an investigation, which culminated in Green's arrest. He faces a Class E felony, according to information from WATE.
The school's administration, in response to the safety concerns, has placed Green on suspension and barred him from entering any school system property. As per 3B Media, William Stepp, Director of Schools, emphasized that "student safety is and will always be the school system’s top priority." He reassured the public that the school board would continue to cooperate with law enforcement to address safety issues.
