
A carjacking incident occurred in the Benton Park West neighborhood, putting a local driver in a harrowing situation. The event unfolded on the 3200 block of Pennsylvania yesterday. A 30-year-old delivery man found himself at gunpoint when two unknown suspects confronted him, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
While delivering a package with his car left running, the victim was approached by the assailants. One of the suspects brandished a firearm, causing the man to flee, which was stated in a report by the police. Temporally disoriented, after running a short distance, he turned to find his 2007 Nissan Sentra missing.
Investigations are currently being led by District 3. The victim, who escaped without physical injury, provided a statement to authorities. "I immediately ran and after running for a short distance, I turned around and observed my 2007 Nissan Sentra was gone," he told the police, highlighting the speed at which such crimes can be executed, as per St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
No arrests have been made as of yet in connection with the carjacking. The police are seeking assistance from the public to track down the perpetrators and recover the vehicle. While shaken by the incident, being unharmed by the armed suspected still within the victim's car, continued to help law enforcement with their investigation.
