
Desert Financial Credit Union and the Foster Alliance, a local nonprofit, gathered about 1,200 volunteers to assemble over 400 bicycles for children under the Arizona Department of Child Safety. This effort aims to bring joy to kids in foster care during the holiday season, according to the Arizona Department of Child Safety.
The Arizona Department of Child Safety announced that bikes secured through Desert Financial and the Foster Alliance's Giving Tree program will soon be distributed statewide. This donation arrives just in time for the holidays, bringing joy to many waiting children. It marks the largest donation received by the Foster Alliance to date.
Desert Financial Credit Union and the Foster Alliance recently organized a volunteer effort to assemble over 400 bicycles for children in foster care under the Arizona Department of Child Safety. Each bike will come with a helmet and a bike lock, along with personalized greeting cards. Rayetta Sanchez, Arizona Department of Child Safety Community Liaison, stated, "We are grateful to Desert Financial Credit Union and the Foster Alliance for this incredible donation and for the hundreds of volunteers who put their time and energy into making this possible." She also emphasized, "These bicycles represent more than just a means of transportation; they symbolize freedom, independence, and the joy of being a child."
