Lori Vallow, known as the 'Doomsday Mom,' is currently involved in legal proceedings. Her new defense team has filed a motion to withdraw a request for a mental competency evaluation. They plan to review extensive records, including five boxes of documents and a 16-terabyte hard drive, before determining what to present to doctors for any evaluations, according to a document obtained by FOX 10.
The defense requested a competency evaluation for the defendant under Rule 11. However, the court proceedings in Arizona are now on hold, as Judge Justin Beresky has ordered a separate mental health evaluation for Vallow. As a result, all hearings, including the trial scheduled for February, are canceled, as noted by FOX 10.
Lori Vallow faces multiple charges in Arizona and Idaho. In Arizona, she is charged with conspiracy to commit murder in the shooting of her fourth husband, Charles Vallow, and in a plot to kill her niece's ex-husband, Brandon Boudreaux. Her late brother, Alex Cox, was involved in both cases. In Idaho, she has been sentenced to life in prison for the murders of her two youngest children and for conspiring to murder Tammy Daybell. Vallow has had fluctuating competency evaluations but was deemed competent after treatment. Her trial in Arizona is scheduled for February 24, 2025, as reported by East Idaho News.
