A chase involving two stolen vehicles came to a head-on collision in Concord. The incident began when officers attempted to stop a vehicle reported stolen from Alameda County, leading to a pursuit into a residential area, as per the Concord Police Department's social media update.
After abandoning the first stolen car, the suspects were seen fleeing in another vehicle that was also later identified as stolen. The vehicle crashed on Willow Pass Road near the Kinney Bridge and collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle as it tried to merge onto Highway 4. Only minor injuries were reported.
Authorities have confirmed that Concord Police were not pursuing the second vehicle during the collision. The suspects involved have been arrested and face multiple charges related to the stolen vehicles and the collision. Their identities have not been disclosed.
The aftermath of the pursuit caused Willow Pass Road to be shut down for around an hour as the investigation unfolded, according to the Concord Police Department's Facebook post.
