Two women, Alyssa Cunha, age 19, of East McKeesport, and Rebecca Cunning, age 47, of McKeesport, are back behind bars after orchestrating a daring escape from a constable's car in Allegheny County. According to WPXI, the pair were transported to the Allegheny County Jail on unrelated warrants when they found an unexpected opportunity to flee.

At a stoplight at Mifflin Road and Mooney Road, Cunning opened the rear door of the constable's vehicle and fled toward nearby woods, prompting a chase. Taking advantage, Cunha escaped in the other direction while the constable was distracted. According to WPXI, when the constable returned to his vehicle, he found Cunha's cell phone missing, which she likely took during the escape.

Local authorities sprung into action, with the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office coordinating efforts to recapture the women. Cunning was found after a short pursuit in the same woods she fled into, whereas Cunha was discovered hiding in a McKeesport residence on Lawndale Avenue. A brief foot chase is what it took to apprehend Cunning, while Cunha was arrested around 9 p.m. without further incident, affirmed the Sheriff’s Office.

The women now face additional charges of escape and conspiracy. Cunning, who ran into the woods, was soon caught, and Cunha's freedom ended around 9 p.m., CBS News Pittsburgh reported.
