El Paso residents can look forward to a mostly sunny week ahead, but with a catch, some rain is in the mix, particularly as the weekend rolls in. According to the National Weather Service, today will be blissfully sunny with highs topping out near 77 degrees, the winds will be gentle at first but will pick up slightly as the day progresses.
As night descends, the skies should remain clear with temperatures dropping to a cozy 54 degrees and while it might be a perfect evening for stargazers, those out and about will feel a light west-southwest wind moving around them. Going into Sunday, clouds will creep in, bringing a 20 percent chance of rain and gusts hitting speeds of 24 mph, the calm before the storm, some might say, while temperatures will fall to a cooler 69. Sunday night is expected to deliver some watery relief with an 80 percent chance of rain and lows nosing down to the high 40s.
The prospect of rain won't last long though, by Monday morning there will only be a lingering 30 percent chance of showers before noon after which the sun is set to break through once again, and temperatures will be slightly chilled at a high of 61 with brisk west winds that might have remnants of the weekend's moisture tagging along in their gusts. Monday night will see the skies clearing out with a decrease in temperature resulting in a low of around 41 degrees while the west winds will ease off until they are merely a whisper.
The weather is shaping up to be largely uneventful toward midweek, with sunny days, clear nights, and highs swinging from the low 60s to mid-70s. Tuesday is Sunny, with a high near 63, says the National Weather Service, delineating the week's narrative which holds steady until Thursday when there's a 20 percent chance of rain. Still, even that doesn't appear to dampen the sunny disposition forecasted for the rest of the week despite the potential for precipitation.
