Late last week, a fatal traffic accident occurred on South Springwater Road, south of Carver in Clackamas County, resulting in the death of a young man. The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene around 5:00 p.m. last Friday, where they found significant damage to two vehicles—a 2012 Dodge Ram and a 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser—that had collided head-on.
Tragically, 22-year-old Ryan Edward Bloomster of Estacada, the driver of the PT Cruiser, was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, a 22-year-old woman, was subsequently provided life-saving measures by deputies and then rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. The occupants of the Dodge pickup, 51-year-old Paul Anthony Dunn of Happy Valley, and a 12-year-old girl were also transported to receive medical attention for minor injuries sustained in the crash, according to a Sheriff's Office release.
The Sheriff’s Office Criminal Reconstruction and Forensic Technicians (CRAFT) team is analyzing the scene to determine whether factors like impairment or speed contributed to the crash.
