The Eureka Police Department has initiated a search for a man suspected of a recent bank robbery. According to KSDK, the incident occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. this past Saturday at Commerce Bank situated at 203 East 5th Street in Eureka.
Witnesses report that the suspect made a demand for money from the tellers, before fleeing on foot heading northwards with an undisclosed sum of cash. The police have stated, no injuries were reported during the robbery. To amplify the search, the Eureka Police are also focusing on locating a white pickup truck believed to be connected to the suspect, as noted in a video captured near the Elk Trails and Fawn Meadows subdivision shortly after the robbery occurred, according to a report by FOX2Now.
The authorities have provided a description of the bank robbery suspect as a middle-aged man, approximately 5’10” tall, last seen dressed in an olive-colored sweater, blue jeans, a white sock hat, and wearing a surgical mask. This detailed description is intended to facilitate public assistance in the apprehension of the individual involved.
In the aftermath of the incident, the Eureka Police Department is reaching out to the public for help. They are urging anyone who was in the neighborhood of the bank between the times of 11 a.m. and 11:35 a.m. on Saturday and witnessed any unusual activities to come forward. "Police are asking anyone who was in the area of the bank between 11 a.m. and 11:35 a.m. Saturday and witnessed any suspicious activity, or anyone who has any information about the incident in general, to call the department at 636-938-6601," according to a statement by FirstAlert4.
