As the holiday season approaches, Fayetteville residents are invited to celebrate the festivities at City Center Park this Friday. Main Street Fayetteville's Light Up City Center Park event will take place from 6 to 8 p.m., with the highlight being the ceremonial lighting of the city's Christmas tree by Mayor Ed Johnson at 6:30 p.m. According to the city's announcement, visitors can look forward to an evening of live Christmas music and complimentary hot cocoa and coffee courtesy of Scoops Fayetteville, available while supplies last.
In addition to the warm beverages, families can enjoy no-cost holiday train rides around the park, a gesture from the city to spread joy among its residents. Adding to the merry ambiance, Art of Landscaping is set to offer beautifully designed Christmas scenes perfect for those memorable holiday photos – and the first 50 guests eager to exercise their creativity can partake in free cookie decorating hosted by Sunflour Treats, with each subsequent cookie activity being available for $6.
The event promises more than just visual delights and sweet treats, with a variety of free games and giveaways also slated to be a part of the evening's activities. And for those seeking more substantial fare or something to satisfy a sweet tooth, there will be an assortment of food trucks on-site alongside local favorites like Line Creek Bus Barn, Hog Pit BBQ, Scoops Fayetteville, and M.S. Pizza, all conveniently located adjacent to the park and ready to serve up their specialties, as detailed by the city's announcement.
Attendees are encouraged to come prepared for an outdoor evening by bringing along their own lawn chairs and blankets. The festive event is designed to cater to all ages and preferences.
