Tapping into the Yuletide spirit, Thornton Park welcomes a touch of holiday kitsch with the debut of The Reindeer Room, a new pop-up bar housed in Jack and Honey's former space at 808 E. Washington Street. Launched by the Abbey, the established venue just a few blocks away on Eola Drive, the bar comes decked out in a style that fans of the Griswold family hijinks would embrace with open arms. According to Gottagoorlando, the space opened this week, and it's already been pulling in patrons eager to drown in festivity.
The walls of The Reindeer Room echo with Christmas tunes, looping tirelessly for the merrymakers. The room also features screenings of holiday movies to set the apt seasonal mood. Patrons can immerse themselves in a deluge of seasonal concoctions, ranging from the "Jingle Bell Smash" to an inviting "Holly Jolly Hot Toddy," as per the elaborations detailed by Orlando Weekly.
The soft opening over the weekend was just a small taste of what's to come, with a promise of an extended menu of libations to be unveiled in the forthcoming days. Early visitors have already gotten a sip of themed drinks like “Grinch’s Vacation” and the bold yet sweet “Snickerdoodle White Russian”—which Gottagoorlando suggests shouldn't be slept on.
Those interested in visiting will find The Reindeer Room's doors open from 4 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, shifting to a noon kickoff over the weekend. The anticipation of longer opening hours after Thanksgiving has been hinted at, setting the bar as a potential go-to spot for those looking to make merry this holiday season.
