Four individuals have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of an armored truck employee in Kings Mountain last month, as announced by local police. The victim, Richard Walter Henderson IV, 29, of Charlotte, was killed while servicing an ATM outside a pharmacy on East King Street.

According to information provided by the Kings Mountain Police Department, the suspects reportedly followed Henderson from Mecklenburg County before carrying out the attack in which no money was stolen. Identified by police were Dominick Anthony Singleton, 38; Melek Isaiah Thomas, 28; Jamal Delkeis Cunningham, 29; and Damareon Laron Dockery, 20, in a statement obtained by WCNC.

WCNC reported that the vehicle involved, a black Jeep Compass Freedom Edition with a distinctive star decal on its hood, was found by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. The vehicle's owner, who claims to have loaned it out at the time of the incident, is reportedly cooperating with the investigation.

Charged with murder and attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, the four men wore masks and hoods during the heist, further detailed by QC News. Collaboration among several law enforcement agencies yielded these arrests, with the involvement of the FBI, SBI, CMPD, and various North Carolina sheriff's offices.

The vehicle used in the crime was rented via a car rental app from an innocent woman, a detail surfaced by WBTV. Kings Mountain Police Chief Gerald Childress issued a warning about the potential risks of peer-to-peer car rental, stating, "We have had some breaks in the case," as suspects who gunned down an armored truck employee fled into this vehicle and then fled the scene.
