Four individuals have found themselves facing serious charges following a series of bold robberies targeting Oklahoma marijuana grow operations. The Multi-County Grand Jury dealt a heavy hand, indicting Geane Johnson Jr., 25, Herbert Lee Morris Jr., 20, Anthony Jermaine Rainger, 21, and Ameil Jordan Elijah Rainger, 20, for their alleged involvement in these high-stakes heists. According to details released by the Oklahoma Attorney General's office, the accused are charged with walking away with cash, and more enticingly, packaged marijuana.
The armed robberies in question took place in late June at Butter Cookies LLC in Marlow and Fuda2020 LLC in Alex. The suspects, purportedly connected to the Murder I Blood street gang, made off with not just the green pertaining to cash but the green of marijuana as well. Oklahoma has faced a wave of crimes in the wake of medical marijuana legalization, a tide the authorities are keen to stem. "These crimes are among the many dangerous activities we are seeing across our state following the legalization of medical marijuana," Attorney General Gentner Drummond stated on the Oklahoma Attorney General's office, indicating the charges are part of a larger effort to quell related criminal activities.
The indictment pulls no punches, slapping the four men with nine felony counts each, these include conspiracy to commit first degree robbery, first degree robbery, and first degree burglary, among others. The gravity of the situation is compounded for Johnson and Morris, who also face an additional count of possession of a firearm during a felony. It is believed that the entangled web these men wove may stretch further, with additional robberies currently under investigation possibly linked back to them.
