In Fulton County, the Cleared for Takeoff Domestic Violence Awareness 5K Walk/Run marked its inaugural event, with community members participating in support of the cause. The event drew a diverse group of participants, ranging from toddlers to seniors, all coming together to show support for domestic violence awareness.
The event, organized by The Mighty 6, highlighted the role of community efforts in addressing important societal issues. District 6 Vice Chair Khadijah Abdur-Rahman, expressing her elation over the turnout and support, said in a statement obtained by Fulton County News, "The beauty of this was that I saw young kids, senior citizens, families, babies; I'm so excited that Fulton County supported this."
As the county reflects on the event, both participants and organizers are looking ahead to the next edition, with plans to expand its reach. Organizers hope that the momentum generated by this year's event will be the foundation for even greater achievements in raising domestic violence awareness in the future.
Information on the accomplishments and further details on the event can be found on the Fulton County website, along with other community-oriented initiatives.
