At a recent ceremony, Germantown Police Officer Deal and Dispatch Lieutenant Neebling were awarded Life Saving Medals for their quick and effective response to a medical emergency that saved a resident's life. On July 6, they were called to a home on Park Creek Drive where they found a man unresponsive. Lieutenant Neebling calmly gave CPR instructions to the caller until help arrived.
Officer Deal arrived at the scene in just three minutes and took over from Lieutenant Neebling, continuing life-saving CPR until help arrived. While paramedics usually handle such rescues, in this case, it was Officer Deal's efforts that kept the man alive. Body-worn camera footage later reviewed by medical professionals confirmed the crucial role the officers played in the man's survival and recovery.
The awards presented to them are a token of recognition for their vital efforts and outstanding professionalism in the face of a possible tragedy. The ceremony itself serves as a reminder of the crucial role first responders play in our community, their commitment to service often makes the difference between life and death. By awarding Life Saving Medals to Officer Deal and Lieutenant Neebling, the Germantown Police Department recognizes the vital work its team does daily.
