Tensions spilled out into the streets of East Williamsburg, Brooklyn, when a fight broke out across from Grand Street Campus High School, leading to an unsettling discovery – a gun in close proximity to a local high school. According to police, the altercation occurred just before 2:45 p.m., as ABC7 reported.
Details are sparse, however, the police believe that the weapon might have slipped from a combatant’s waistband during the fracas, this bit of conjecture comes without much in the way of evidence. School safety agents responded to the scene on Grand Street and retrieved the gun, now in police custody. Injuries sustained in the scuffle were reportedly not serious, according to NY Daily News.
The incident prompted police to rush to the corner of Grand St. and Bushwick Ave. bringing them face-to-face with a group's unsettling after-school activities. On arrival, officers approached a Taco Bell across the street from Grand Street Campus High School, where the altercation and subsequent recovery of the firearm took place.
