
Earlier today, an incident occured in Whitehaven as gunfire led to a vehicle crash injuring three including a one-year-old baby, according to Memphis Police Department. WREG reported that police arrived at Winchester Road and Winbrook Road, just after 3 a.m, to find an overturned car in a grassy field.
The Action News 5 coverage revealed that prior to the crash, the 23-year-old woman driving the vehicle was shot at following a verbal altercation at a separate location. The specifics of the shooting, including the exact location and the presence of potential suspects, remain undetermined.
In the same incident, a 27-year-old man was also taken to the hospital with injuries described as non-critical, according to the police. The child involved was quickly rushed to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital, thankfully, with injuries not considered serious. FOX13 reported that the accident led to the closure of Winchester Road for approximately five hours before it reopened later in the morning.
