A Gwinnett County family is happy to have their Shihpoo, Lucy, back after she was stolen. Lucy went missing from the Sugarloaf Summit Apartments in Duluth on September 9. She was later found by a resident, but two juveniles took her and drove off in a blue Cadillac SUV without a tag. Lucy's owner, Thida Hou, said, "When they took her they kind of they kind of destroyed us." The investigation led police to Kristian Dunning, who was linked to the theft after tracking the vehicle to her home, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.

It was discovered that Dunning had taken the dog, and Lucy had also had puppies while with him. Officials identified the dog through a microchip scan. A video of the emotional reunion showed Lucy and her puppies being returned to Hou, who said, "My heart was pounding out my chest. I had been crying the whole way to go get her," in an interview with FOX 5 Atlanta.

Dunning is facing charges of theft by taking and contributing to the delinquency of a minor but has not yet turned herself in. Despite the situation, Hou is focused on keeping Lucy and her puppies close. She said, "Well, I am a grandma and happy but I’m going to keep them within my family because I want to keep them really close to me considering the situation and everything that has happened." The Gwinnett County Police Department is asking for any tips, offering a cash reward while keeping tipsters anonymous, as stated by Atlanta News First.
