
Over the Thanksgiving weekend, Gwinnett County Police discovered a chop shop operation in Norcross after a stolen mini excavator led them to the location. The theft was reported after the owner tracked his missing equipment using GPS to a residential address, prompting the police to investigate, according to the Gwinnett County.
Gwinnett County Police detectives investigated a theft on Tuesday at 846 Rockbridge Way. They found a stolen excavator in plain view and obtained a search warrant. During the search, they recovered two more excavators, a stolen SUV, three cars with altered Vehicle Identification Numbers, two stolen motorcycles, a trailer, drugs (Fentanyl and Oxycodone), and a stolen handgun, as reported by the Gwinnett County.
Larry Dobbs, 46, from Norcross, is facing charges for running a chop shop, theft, firearm possession as a felon, drug possession, and having tools used in crimes. Police recovered stolen items and linked him to a network altering vehicle identities. He is now in Gwinnett County Jail, as stated by the Gwinnett County.
