A carjacking disrupted the quiet of Hamilton Heights last night in a scene that seemed like something out of a movie—but was all too real for the victim. According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the incident occurred on November 13, just after 11 p.m., when a 39-year-old man was held at gunpoint by an acquaintance following a music session in his car.
Planning to collaborate musically, the man met the suspect in his 2018 Chevy Cruze on the 5500 block of Minerva. The evening took a dark turn when the suspect allegedly exited the vehicle, brandishing a handgun. Fearing for his life, the victim fled without looking back as the suspect drove off with his car. District 5 has since launched an investigation into the incident.
According to a statement by the St. Louis Police Department, "The 39-year-old said when the suspect exited the car, the suspect pointed a handgun at him." Fear drove the victim to flee, running faster than any car, away from the gun's threat and toward safety.
