A violent incident occurred on Church Street when officers attempted to arrest Michael Manley, 46. According to the Hillsboro NH Police Department on their Facebook page, Manley allegedly attacked the officers during the execution of the arrest warrant. This led to the hospitalization of two officers.
The police report indicates that upon encountering the officers on Wednesday, Manley immediately became aggressive, assaulting one female officer severely enough to necessitate an ambulance to the hospital. He then is reported to quickly have turned his attention to a male officer, leaving him semiconscious on the ground. Assistance from two additional officers and the use of tasers were required to finally handcuff Manley, who continued to be combative, going on to assault a Deering Police officer as well, as reported by the Hillsboro NH Police Department.
Manley is in custody at the Hillsborough County House of Correction facing charges including assault, resisting arrest, and endangering a child. His arraignment is on Friday. The condition of the two injured officers is unknown, and no updates have been given. More information will be available after the arraignment, as stated by the Hillsboro NH Police Department.
