
A tense standoff in Wyoming ended peacefully yesterday when police took one person into custody, according to local authorities. The Wyoming Police Department responded to a call around 10 a.m. about a person barricaded in a home on Flamingo Avenue SW, as reported by FOX 17.
Few details were shared, but the situation disrupted traffic in the area as police set up a large presence with multiple police cars and tactical equipment, according to WOODTV. It remains unclear if anyone else was in the home with the suspect.
By about 2:30 p.m., the police announced the standoff had ended, and the suspect was safely in custody. Lieutenant Andrew Koeller stated that the individual was taken into custody without any issues, as reported by WOODTV.
Police reassured the public that there was no ongoing threat to safety. The standoff was confined to the house on the 3300 block of Flamingo Avenue SW and did not spread beyond that area. The Wyoming Police Department has not provided further information, and the incident, including the identity of the suspect, remains under investigation, as per WZZM13.
