
An apartment fire occurred in the Westwood area last Saturday, causing an estimated $15,000 in damages, but firefighters' prompt action prevented injuries and saved property valued at approximately $400,000.
The fire, later classified as unintentional, began at 6:49 p.m. at the address 10001 Club Creek Dr. 77036. The Houston Fire Department reports that upon arrival, firefighters observed flames on the building's exterior that they swiftly managed to get under control, they completed their search, and confirmed no extension of the fire occurred throughout the structure. According to official statements, no residents or first responders were harmed in the incident.
41 personnel were dispatched to address the blaze, including teams from Stations 68, 10, 51, 76, 82, 75 and Rescue 10. The combined efforts of these units facilitated a quick response, ensuring that further damage to the structure and neighbouring properties was averted.
The Houston Fire Department has highlighted the importance of prompt reporting and early fire detection, which played a key role in the successful response. They credit the lack of casualties and minimal property damage to the swift actions of the firefighting teams and the effectiveness of local emergency response protocols.
