The search for Susan Lane-Fournier, a 61-year-old hiker last seen in Mt. Hood National Forest, has intensified as authorities and volunteers scour the Green Canyon Way Trail area, where she is believed to have gone missing with her two dogs. Lane-Fournier, also known as "Phoenix," did not show up for work last week, prompting concerns for her safety. According to FOX 10 Phoenix, her white 1992 Ford F-250 was located parked along E. Salmon River Road, near the trail south of Welches, an area she is reportedly familiar with.

With temperatures dropping into the 30s amidst light rain and the possibility of snow, the search team faces significant challenges, over a hundred miles of trail have already been covered by the search parties and despite these efforts, Lane-Fournier and her Malinois-mix dogs remain missing. The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office and its Search and Rescue team, supported by multiple volunteer rescue organizations, including Pacific Northwest Search and Rescue, have deployed two trailing K9 teams, drones, and an assembly of over two dozen ground searchers. "We had eight teams in the field, and that comprised of about 37 folks, two drone operators in the field, and then we also had our own canine teams out in the field, and so those folks are covering a very large area," Ross Clemson from the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office conveyed to the public through KPIC.

Authorities describe Lane-Fournier as being 5'2" tall, weighing around 150 pounds with reddish-brown hair, anyone with information about her whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Tip Line. The community's continued engagement is crucial as more volunteers and resources join the ongoing search; the Sheriff's Office maintains close communication with Lane-Fournier's family.
