The City of Hilliard has welcomed a new addition to its team. Yesterday, it announced the appointment of Jessica Gibson as the new Fiscal Officer. Gibson will take on a suite of responsibilities within the Finance Department, including accounting, financial reporting, and auditing functions.
Having cut her teeth as a Fiscal Analyst for the City of Chattanooga, Tenn., Gibson brings a wealth of expertise in budget analysis and expenditure tracking. Her transfer to Hilliard marks a return to her Ohio roots and a step up in her career in public service. She maintains financial oversight over the city's operating and capital budgets and lends her hand to the broader fiscal management objectives of the community.
"Municipal finance has become my passion and serving the public is something I take very seriously," Gibson said in a statement obtained by the City of Hilliard. She added, "I’m excited to join Hilliard’s talented Finance team and use my skills to benefit both the City and the residents."
Her academic credentials span from an undergraduate journey at Alabama A&M University to an MBA from Colorado State University. Outside the demanding arena of municipal finance, Gibson enjoys various activities, from traveling to thrift shopping. She also spends quality time in her garden or with her Yorkie, Jaxx. With professional insight and personal zeal, Gibson is positioned as a boon for Hilliard's financial health.
