
A verdict has been reached in the 2022 shooting death of Brian “Marquis” Moore outside Cunha’s Cocktails in San Leandro, with a jury finding Louis Woods III, 35, guilty of second-degree murder, as well as an additional gun enhancement charge, as detailed in an announcement from Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price.
As per the Alameda County District Attorney's Office, The fatal incident occurred on March 25, 2022, when Woods, armed with an AR-15 style assault rifle "ghost gun" concealed in his backpack, reportedly engaged in an altercation that escalated to the fatal shooting of Moore. The weapon later recovered at Woods' Oakland residence was the evidence that served as an anchor in his subsequent trial and conviction. Woods' sentencing is slated for January 24, 2025.
Simultaneously, San Leandro police announced the arrest of two individuals in connection to the case, Louis Ray Woods, 33, from Oakland, identified as the shooter, and Jennifer Glaze, 30, from Antioch, as an alleged accessory following the incident, according to details reported by KTVU.
Preliminary investigation findings indicated that the deadly confrontation started inside Cunha's Cocktails and spilled out onto the street, resulting in Moore suffering multiple gunshot wounds. This tragic outcome prompted a manhunt that ended with Glaze allegedly providing shelter for Woods in a motel room.
