Kingsport Parks and Recreation is actively seeking scorekeepers and referees to oversee the city’s youth and adult basketball leagues. In a recent midnight press release, the department announced that these positions are open through late March, with competitive pay varying based on the role. Candidates must be at least 16 years old; however, prior experience is not required.
The department is not just looking for basketball enthusiasts; applicants are expected to be reliable and impartial to maintain a professional environment in line with the department's high standards. Successful candidates will oversee games at various city locations, primarily in the evenings.
Program Coordinator Nate Williams encouraged interested individuals to apply, stating, "If you have a love of basketball, are looking for a challenge and want to give back to the community, then consider applying for one of these positions." Williams emphasized that the department values the commitment of those who help uphold the integrity of their sports programs, as per the City of Kingsport, Tennessee.
