
A man was critically injured during a shooting incident on Woodbine Avenue in Knoxville this past Sunday afternoon. According to a statement obtained by the Knoxville Police Department, the victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was able to privately get himself to Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center around 4:30 p.m., from where he was later moved to UT Medical Center for more intensive care.
The Knoxville Police Department continues to carefully piece together the circumstances leading up to the shooting. Detectives have determined that the incident occurred in the 3000 block of Woodbine Avenue. Following the shooting, the man reportedly drove to a parking lot in the vicinity of Baxter Avenue and Marion Street before being picked up and taken to the hospital. Police are now in the process of searching for a black, full-size SUV believed to have quickly left the scene after the gunshots were heard.
